FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and is a simple network protocol that allows users to transfer files from their computers to a server.
You already use it when uploading files directly to OnSign TV on the browser, but FTP clients - softwares tailored for file transfer - offer some advantages, as scheduling and queueing transfers, aside from uploading files larger than 2 Gb. Before downloading the program, first enable FTP transfer on your OnSign TV account:
- Click on your name at the bottom-left corner and then on “Settings” at the drop-down menu.
- On Settings page, click on “FTP Settings” at the sidebar menu.
- Mark “Enable FTP” option. Type any password you wish and hit “Save Settings”. You can change this password any time you want.
- Done! Click on “Content” option at the left menu. At the new page, expand the right menu and hit the “FTP Account Info” at the bottom. All the credentials you need to use the software are available on the pop-up box.
