Portrait screen on Android

Although most Android media players distributions don't offer screen rotation right out of the box, in most cases it is possible to change a specific config file that will make your digital signage screen work in portrait mode.   The process is quick and easy, but please pay attention to these points:
  1. Not all Android firmwares support rotation.
  2. The process may be slightly different depending on your player CPU brand and firmware.
  3. In most cases you will need to edit a system file. Don't be scared as this is a simple text edit.
  4. As you will be changing Android system files there is always a small chance things go wrong and you may need to reflash your device.
  Before starting, make sure you:
  • Download and install ES File Explorer File. You can get it at Play store or download the APK. here
  • Your device is rooted so ES File Explorer File has the appropriate permission to change system files.
Please select the process according to your hardware CPU and firmware.   Realtek 1195
